Dr. Cardona provides administrative oversight, seminars, and clinical supervision for the psychology training program. The program consists of a predoctoral internship, which is APA approved, that emphasizes psychological assessment and community-based mental health interventions. The second, post-doctoral year focuses on hospital-based practice and four areas of clinical specialization (autism, childhood trauma, early childhood development, and pediatric psychology).

Dr. Cardona also conducts various clinical and training activities within Yale-New Haven Hospital. She is Co-Director of the Child Study Center Pediatric Consultation-Liaison Service, which offers a broad range of psychiatric services to children and adolescents who are under the care of the inpatient pediatric services of YNHH. As part of the CL program, Dr. Cardona trains child psychiatrists, child psychologists, and medical students in the delivery of mental health interventions to children and families who suffer from acute and chronic medical conditions. Currently, Dr. Cardona is a clinical consultant to pediatric oncology. Dr. Cardona is also the faculty psychologist for the Children’s Psychiatric Inpatient Unit and the Inpatient Child Study Center School, both of which serve children ages 4 to 14 with serious neuropsychiatric, developmental and behavioral problems.

Dr. Cardona is the director of the Yale Child Study Center Psychological Assessment Service. The Psychological Assessment Service provides diagnostic evaluations of infants, children and adolescents referred for developmental assessments, neuropsychological evaluations and learning assessments.
