Research Interests

Dr. Goyette-Ewing is the Director of the Psychology Training program at the Yale Child Study Center. The Yale Child Study Center offers a two-year integrated training program in child clinical psychology. The program includes an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship and a (non-accredited) post-doctoral Fellowship. Fellows receive intensive didactic, clinical, and research experiences which provide them with a breadth of exposure to evaluation and treatment of children and their families in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. In addition, each Fellow is affiliated with an area of specialization: early childhood, autism/developmental disabilities, pediatrics, or trauma. Each area of specialization affords the opportunity to conduct clinical work and research within a specialty area, while concomitantly participating in the generalist curriculum. Program graduates have gone on to careers in academic psychology departments, medical schools and hospitals, the social policy arena, and clinical practice.

Dr. Goyette-Ewing’s interests include child development and social policy, clinical training, development of professional competence, and supervision. She has conducted research in the areas of child care quality, parenting interventions, and mental health consultation in early care and education settings. She has developed and implemented information and support programs for parents and teachers of young children. Currently, she continues her research involvement in the development and evaluation of training and service delivery models, the longitudinal sequelae of developmental disabilities, and family functioning.

Dr. Goyette-Ewing’s clinical work involves psychological assessment of children, including the assessment of learning and developmental disabilities, and the development and delivery of parenting interventions.
