New Haven (203) 946-8174. Environmental Health staff enforce
Connecticut public health and safety codes and statutes
and New Haven health ordinances to protect your health
and safety. Sanitarians regularly conduct inspections
of all food service establishments, day care centers,
schools, and group homes in the City. Other services include:
Investigations
of housing for possible lead paint hazards Investigations
of various health nuisances or public health dangers.
Tests of water quality in public swimming pools and
beach areas Seasonal private swimming pool testing conducted,
by request, for a small fee.

Division provides program services aimed at reducing various
risk factors for heart disease, cancer and accidental
injury. Blood pressure screening and education about high
blood pressure (203) 946-5978. Diabetes and nutrition
education, home safety assessments, smoking cessation

of New Haven Maternal and Child Health, 54 Meadow
Street, New Haven, (203) 946-8187. The MCH Division provides
outreach, education and programs linking families with
health and support services. Health Start provides access
to comprehensive medical coverage and social services
to pregnant women, infants and children born after September
30, 1983 who are uninsured and/or underinsured. MANOS
(Maternal and Newborn Outreach Support) is an intensive
family support and home visiting program that connects
high-risk pregnant women, infants and children with health
care resources.

of New Haven Pediatric Immunization, 54 Meadow Street,
New Haven (946-6295)The Pediatric Immunization Unit provides
childhood immunization identification, tracking, pediatric
and WIC clinic survey assessments, site visits, expansion
of clinic services, and childhood disease prevention public
awareness and education strategies. The Immunization staff
conducts home visits, written and verbal reminders/referrals
of pediatric appointments, language translations, advocacy/education,
school and community presentations, neighborhood and clinic
events.

p.m. Immunizations and TB are free for children under
18. Adults range from $5-$80.

Immunization Clinics are held on the second and last Tuesday
of each month from 2:00 PM-3:30 PM by appointment only.
Immunizations are provided to all children that do not
have health insurance to cover vaccines. A child must
be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have a record
of all previous immunizations given. Call for fees and
an appointment.

Mom's Clinic is a school Based Health Center at Hamden
High, (203) 248-6107. It is a licensed outpatient
clinic and provides a full array services. Mom's Clinic
is operated by the Quinnipiack Valley Health District,
and supported through a grant from the State of Connecticut.
Monday through Friday 8:00am- 2:00pm. The Clinic is open
during the school year except legal holidays and vacations.
(See After Hours Policy.) There are no fees for services
performed at the clinic. Fees are covered by a grant from
the CT Dept. of Public Health for all students, with or
without insurance.

brief phone interview as they are not for everyone. All
