Fun
activities to do with children:
Point to colors and
shapes when talking to young children in everyday activities,
while getting dressed, while you eat, go out for a drive,
or a walk.
Hold up a sample
of a color or shape and ask a child to look around the
room, or in a book and find the same color or shape.
Show children how
to mix paint to make new colors. Let the child experiment
with making his own colors. Talk about and name the colors
that you make and what colors you used to make them.
Fold napkins into
shapes, triangles, squares and rectangles. You could even
cut a child’s sandwich into different shapes too!
Look for colors,
you can find colors anywhere from an art museum to the
grocery store.
