. Neuro-Ophthalmology Section

The Section of Neuro-Ophthalmology evaluates diseases of the central nervous system that affect the visual system. Other medical diseases, such as diabetes and thyroid disease that impact on the visual system, are also managed. Special testing techniques are available including visual fields, visual evoked response (VERs), and imaging studies such as CT, MRI, magnetic resonance angiography and ultrasound. The section works closely with Neurology, Neurosurgery, General Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology to offer multidisciplinary care for complex cases.

Your Appointment: What to Bring with You

The Yale Eye Center physicians ask that you bring the following items with you for your appointment:

  • Your current eyeglasses and/or contact lenses

  • List of all current medications (include the name of the medication and the dosage)

  • Medical records that relate to your current condition. This should include X-rays, CT scans and any additional test results or copies of medical records

  • Your current health insurance identification card and any referral/authorization forms that may be required by your insurance company.
