. | Yale Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus Section In the Section of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, we promote the science and art of pediatric eye care to improve the visual health of children. Children are susceptible to all eye diseases that occur in adults and additional disease entities. We also deal with evaluation and treatment of amblyopia, strabismus, double vision, and other ocular motility disorders in children and adults. The mission of this Section is two-fold:
As the only Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus group in Southern New England located within an academic medical center (Yale University School of Medicine), our clinical team, with Dr. Daniel J. Salchow as Director, provides expertise in diagnosing and treating childrens simple & complex eye pathology and adult strabismus disorders. Referred cases as a rule are triaged and directed to the faculty member best able to manage the patients specific problem. Second opinions, especially related to surgical correction of simple and complex strabismus problems in children and adults, are welcomed.
