Mission

Yale Dermatology Associates is a state-of-the-art, academic dermatology center of excellence, that exemplifies patient-centered service, is highly professional and efficient, conveys a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere while providing a world class clinical education for future leaders in the field of dermatology.

What is it that we, as dermatologists, would look for in our own skin doctors? We would want them to be knowledgeable in their fields, to hold themselves to the highest standard of medical practice, to care deeply about their patients and to have ready access to consultation from their peers when they are not certain of the diagnosis or treatment. That requires a special blend of several physicians, all with a solid base of knowledge and skills, but with complementing expertise. Modern dermatology is too broad a field for a single physician to cover all of the bases by himself or herself. As a testament to this notion of expertise, several of the Yale Dermatology Associates’ physicians have been acknowledged by being listed in the “best physicians in the country.” For a number of years, inside the walls of the Yale-New Haven Medical Center, we have run one of the largest and most diversified dermatology practices on the East Coast. Most of the patients for whom we care are referred to us in consultation by other dermatologists or physicians in Connecticut and beyond, both because of the complexity of their problems and because of our expertise. In short, we have been, and continue to be, the dermatologists whose opinions other dermatologists in the area seek most frequently.
