The Yale Surgical Society sponsored a well-attended
grand rounds on the Thursday afternoon of reunion weekend, with
a talk by Martin C. Robson, M.D., HS 73,
the first chief resident in Yales plastic surgery section.
Robson, professor emeritus at the University of South Florida, described
how surgeons came to recognize the significance of bacteria counts
in the success rate of human skin grafts and in the healing of delayed
wound closures. Also at grand rounds, the society presented its
Sam Harvey Award to José Roberto Borromeo, a postdoctoral fellow
in vascular surgery. |
