A rite of passage
The White Coat Ceremony is a first-year
student's initiation into medicine.

School of Medicine Dean David A. Kessler,
M.D., helps first-year medical student Emmanuelle M. Clerisme into the white jacket
that signifies service to others at the White Coat Ceremony held at the start of
the academic year. Merle Waxman, associate dean for academic development, looks on.
