Thesis Deadlines
The Thesis Committee in conjunction with the Dean's Office has established the following deadlines
for theses submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for graduation in May 2009. These
deadlines add additional time for students to complete their final drafts, and for departmental review.
The deadlines ensure that (1) students have all possible available time to complete their theses; (2) that
there is sufficient time for departmental review and subsequent revision by students before final approval.
These deadlines are rigidly adhered to without exception to maintain the integrity of the thesis requirement.

*Students missing the February 6 and March 6 deadline will not be considered for honors or prizes. Extensions beyond the above thesis deadlines will be made only for special circumstances and must have the approval of both the student's Advisor and the Departmental Thesis Committee Chairperson. Such extensions, if granted, will carry the ABSOLUTE deadlines listed below:

**Students missing either of these deadlines will not receive their degree at Graduation in May. Review of such late theses will be done by faculty outside of the primary department of the student, to be chosen by the Dean, and will take up to 1-2 months. Upon approval of the thesis, such students will be eligible for receiving a degree in June or September, thus jeopardizing their residency.
