Welcome to the Yale Center for Sleep Medicine
The Yale Center for Sleep Medicine is a nationally
recognized center for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep
disorders.
The
Yale Center for Sleep Medicine is an accredited member center of the
American Academy of Sleep Medicine. It is an interdisciplinary program,
which offers a coordinated approach to the management of variety of sleep
disorders and related conditions. Faculty members are board certified
in sleep medicine, internal medicine and pulmonary diseases. Members
work closely with physicians in otolaryngology, neurology, cardiology,
psychology, dentistry, and bariatric surgery. The Center has three sleep
study laboratories. These are located in New Haven, Guilford, and Norwich
with associated clinics.
The following conditions are evaluated by the Center:
- Sleep-related breathing disorders such as snoring and sleep
apnea
- Restless leg syndrome and movement disorders during sleep
- Sleep apnea-related seizure disorders
- Circadian and shift work-related disorders
- Narcolepsy
- Evaluation of patients with heart failure and stroke
- Insomnia
- Parasomnias such as sleep walking and talking, abnormal behavior during
sleep
