The Krause laboratory studies the engraftment of bone marrow derived cells as epithelial cells in the lung. Pictured here is a WT lung stained in red for pro-surfactant protein C, which is found uniquely in type II pneumocytes in the lung. Green is cytokeratin, and nuclei (blue) are stained with DAPI. Autofluorescent red blood cells and macrophages appear with red rings.
