Unique Shopping and Bookstores

There are a variety of specialty stores of interest in New Haven, including specialized clothing, jewelry, and children's shops. Bookstores abound; notable popular places include Arethusa on Audubon, Atticus Bookstore-Cafe on Chapel, The Foundry on Whitney, and the large sellers, such as the Yale Bookstore. Two notable places for bibliophiles that are in the suburbs are the Whitlock Farm Bookbarn in Bethany (with an unbelievably terrific collection of used books) and a recent winner of the "best small bookstore in America" accolade, the RJ Julia Booksellers in Madison who also carry out e-commerce and get virtually all the major authors to come through on their book tours.
