Subjects include acupuncture, homeopathy, hypnosis, chiropractic, osteopathy, psychotherapy, diet therapy, herbalism, holistic treatment traditional Chinese medicine, ayurdevic medicine, reflexology, iridology, podiatry, moxibusion, meditation, yoga, Alexander technique, and palliative care. Indexes approximately 350 biomedical journals with relevant articles published in other journals dealing with alternative medicine. Some overlap with Medline and CINAHL.

CAM Citation Index This new database consists of more than 180,000 bibliographic citations drawn from the Medline database. The current version is an initial prototype, it is therefore not complete or authoritative. The next version, which is scheduled for release soon, will be more comprehensive and will include enhanced searching tools.

CHID Online: Combined Health Information Database CHID is a database produced through the cooperative efforts of seven health-related agencies of the Federal Government. At present it covers 18 topics ranging from AIDS education to Weight Control including a section on Complementary and Alternative Medicine. In 1996, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine Clearinghouse established a clearinghouse to exchange current and reliable information on alternative medicine for health professionals, patients and the public. Information in the database includes fact sheets, textbooks, journal and newsletter articles, audiovisuals, directories, manuals, brochures and pamphlets, monographs and reports.
