Document Delivery services include a Medical Article Copy Service (MACS) and Interlibrary Loan (ILL). These services are available to faculty, staff and students of Yale University, and staff of the Yale-New Haven Medical Center. Paper forms for these services are available at the Document Delivery office and the Circulation and Information Desks. A separate form must be filled out for each individual item requested. The library adheres to copyright guidelines.
Before submitting an Interlibrary Loan request, patrons should first check the online catalog, ORBIS to make sure that the Yale Library does not own the desired material in any format.
Most requests submitted by Yale patrons
are free. Payment is required for non-patient care rushes.
Payment is required at the time the request is submitted via check, cash, or
charge to a University account.
Another part of the ILL service is to provide access to our collection for people not affiliated with Yale University. Not all library materials are available through interlibrary loan. For loan/ photocopy charges:(see full details). See forms below for non-affiliated customers. All non-affiliated requests incur a fee.
