EndNote
Basic
Learn basic features of this bibliographic database management program. This
class covers both directly exporting and/or importing citations from external
databases such as Ovid MEDLINE or PubMed and using EndNote with MS Word to create
in-text citations, reference lists and bibliographies for your manuscripts. This
class is one hour. |
EndNote
Advanced
This advanced EndNote class covers the following program features: managing
term lists including the Journals Abbreviation list, managing images including
inserting figures and charts into a MS Word document, customizing a journal output
style, creating clickable URL links, and sharing a traveling library. This is
a ninety minute class and the prerequisite in the EndNote Basic class. |
Ovid MEDLINE
This introduction to searching MEDLINE on the Library's Ovid system covers
basic author, journal, subject or textword searching and how to print or save
the results. |
Ovid EMBASE
This introduction to searching EMBASE on the Library's Ovid system covers
basic author, journal, subject or textword searching and how to print or save
the results. |
PubMed
PubMed provides access to over 12 million MEDLINE citation back to the mid-1960's.
Learn PubMed search techniques, including how to quickly limit a search and the
role of Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) in creating more effective searches.
Participants will also learn time-saving features such as saving searches and
how to link out to full-text to the library catalog. |
Creating Presentations [Using PowerPoint 2000]
Do you need a jump start for your next presentation? PowerPoint may be the
answer. This course will introduce you to the capabilities of PowerPoint 2000
and its most commonly used features. You will learn how to create and edit a
presentation, make simple charts and tables, and import images. Class is 1.5
hours. |
