You must first save your PubMed citations in the correct format and later import them into Endnote.
- Do your search in PubMed and select the citations you wish to save.
- Next to the Display button, select MEDLINE as the citation format.
- Click on the "Send To" drop down menu and choose "File".
- Save the file as a text file. Note where you save it.
At a later time when you are at the computer with Endnote on it:
- Open Endnote and select the correct library.
- Select File and Import.
- At the Import Data File option, you will Choose file. Navigate to the correct drive and find the text file you saved in PubMed. Select that file.
- At Import Option: select the correct database style filter. In this case, select PUBMED(NLM)
- At the Duplicates prompt: you may select to delete duplicates, which will automatically discard any citations that match existing citations in your Endnote library.
- When you are done, select Import. Your citations will be imported to your Endnote library.
