Guide for Finding History of Medicine Citations in the Database History of Science, Technology and Medicine

Connect to History of Science, Technology and Medicine

What is History of Science, Technology and Medicine?

This database includes bibliographical citations for books, journal articles, book chapters, and dissertations in the history of science, technology and medicine. It indexes a much broader array of historical literature than PubMed but it does not significantly index medical and scientific journals. It includes the entries from the Isis Current Biography (History of Science Society) since 1975, from Current Work in the History of Medicine (Wellcome Library for the History and Public Understanding of Medicine) since 1991, Current Bibliography in the History of Technology (Society for the History of Technology), and Bibliografia Italiana di Storia della Scienza. Access to HSTM is purchased by the Yale University Library and requires a Yale IP address, PPP access, or a proxy server or VPN account. The search screen is similar to that used for Eureka (RLIN). To determine if Yale owns an item, click on the associated SFX link.SFX button.
