Current Books in the History of Medicine

Current books in the history of medicine are located in the Historical Reading Room. Books with LC call number R are on the main floor and books with LC call numbers A-Q, S-Z are on the balcony. Oversize books are in the cabinets below the shelves on the balcony.

The Reading Room is open whenever the Medical Library is open. Books may be checked out at the Circulation Desk for a period of two months. Books may be requested through Eli Express from other Yale libraries.

Records for all books are on ORBIS, the Yale University Library catalog.

Most twentienth century reprints of medical classics currently housed in locked stacks CAN circulate. Please request these books through the Historical Library.

Biographies and collective biographies are shelved separately from other historical books.
