Beginning Monday September 27th, 2010 the Medical Historical Library will start construction on a Rare Book Stacks renovation project.

The project, with a completion date of December 2011, will:

• Install a new HVAC unit for the collections which will provide the rare book stacks with a secure and archival environment, ensuring the optimal humidity, temperature and security needs are met.
• Provide dedicated spaces for collection management activities including preservation, digitization, historical collection cataloging and processing along with a Print Curator’s office.
• Provide new compact shelving units that will supply the space with appropriate shelving options for our varied collection.

In order to accommodate the construction work a portion of collection materials will be temporarily unavailable. Please refer to the Currently Available Collections and Collections to be Closed for specifics on collection availability.
