About Journalfinder

This is a beta-quality service under development by library staff. The Journalfinder helps you find science journals at Yale whether those journals are online or in print. It uses three different databases to do this, querying each behind the scenes to figure out whether and where you can access journals at Yale. One database is the library ejournal database which tracks ejournal subscriptions; the second is the jake database, an open source ejournal product registry developed here at Yale; the third is an extract from ORBIS, our library catalog, of current print subscriptions in the sciences.

There are two ways to use the Journalfinder. First, you can enter a journal name (or even just a journal title abbreviation) above and have Journalfinder find current Yale subscriptions, online and print. Second, you might reach this page from the Ovid system or other online journal resources at Yale; this may happen when you click a citation or reference link in those resources in hopes of finding full text of that citation here at Yale.

We designed this page because we know that finding a journal article can be difficult; our subscriptions come from many vendors and print copies are spread throughout the libraries. Hopefully this page will be helpful to you as a central locator for journals. But we know it is not perfect -- far from it. We expect that there might be many ways to make this page better, so while we continue to work on making finding articles easier, please tell us what you think.
