Borrow Direct
Borrow Direct is a book borrowing service involving a small group of large academic libraries which allows users to request books unavailable at Yale. Most books will be available for pick up within four business days after a request is made.

Eli Express: for books held at another Yale Library
Eli Express is a delivery service that allows you to request that books be delivered from any of Yale's participating libraries to the Yale library of your choice. Request Eli Express delivery of library materials directly from Orbis. First search for the item you need, then click on Place Requests and follow the instructions.

Interlibrary Loan
Place an Interlibrary Loan request when you need a book that the Yale Library system does not own. The Document Delivery Department will locate the book at another library and have it delivered to the Medical Library for your use.

Request that the library purchase a book that it does not already own.

Renew a charged book
Renew books and other library materials using Orbis. Just login to Your Library Account and follow the instructions.

Paging: retrieve and hold materials at the circulation desk
The paging service allows you to request that books be retrieved from the stacks and held for you at the library's circulation desk. You can request that materials be paged directly from Orbis. First search for the item you need, then click on Place Requests and follow the instructions.

MACS: photocopies of book chapters
Request that the library photocopies a chapter of a book at the Medical or Kline Science Libraries. There is charge of $6.00 per request.
