Images
48,000 medical images. Images have been puchased by the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library for use by Yale students, staff and faculty. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) The Bristol Biomedical Image Archive (Bristol BioMed for short) is an online collection of about 8500 medical, dental, and veterinary images for use in teaching and learning. All the images have been donated by academics working in the biomedical fields in different countries. As a general rule, the images can be used free of charge in teaching and learning. Library The American Memory Historical Collections, a major component of the Library's National Digital Library Program, are multimedia collections of digitized documents, photographs, recorded sound, moving pictures, and text from the Library's Americana collections. There are currently more than 90 collections in the American Memory Historical Collections. Associated Press Photo Archive Not a medical database, but you will find images that have appeared in the news. YSN newsmakers, such as Florence Wald, can be found. Also contains photos of current health news stories, such as SARS. Images from the History of Medicine (from the National Library of Medicine) Yale Manuscripts and Archives Image Database This collection of images from Yale's collections has a few images from the history of the Yale School of Nursing. Images are watermarked. For Internet searches, try a Google search. Limit to images by selecting the "Images" tab. |
