Outpatient
experience
During the first 6 months of residency, the residents attend one to two clinics per week as their hours permit and see preoperative patients, post operative patients, and outpatient consults. For the following year, the residents have a continuity clinic weekly at the VA where consults, preoperative, postoperative, and follow up patients are seen. The resident will follow his own patient through this process. Additional outpatients are seen at the Gamma Knife Center for this outpatient procedure. The resident assigned to the VA goes to this facility on a weekly basis. The Senior Resident is assigned to the Pediatric Neurosurgery Clinic. We are in the process of developing a weekly Chief Resident’s Clinic.
