Expertise

Substance Abuse and Domestic Violence Interventions, Forensic Substance Dependency Evaluations, Drug Diversion Treatment Programs, Substance Abuse and Criminality.

Dr. Easton develops and implements behavioral therapies for substance abusing men with co-occurring intimate partner violence. She studies treatment outcomes among substance abusers diverted from corrections & criminal justice settings into substance abuse treatment.

Research Interest

Dr. Easton's research primarily concentrates on assessing the links between substance use and criminal behavior. In particular, Dr. Easton has developed and implemented a group therapy approach for men who are alcohol dependent and have domestic violence related problems. Dr. Easton is currently developing an individual behavioral therapy approach for men who are substance dependent and have problems with intimate partner violence. She is the PI on grants funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse, The Donaghue Foundation and The Byrne Foundation. Dr. Easton also collaborates with investigators from Joao Pessoa, Brazil and Partners of the Americas to assess and treat individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and domestic violence.
