(b) Investigating factors critical to the validity of neuropsychological assessment (patient motivation, examiner judgment, and methods of clinical inference). (c) Investigating the neuropsychological characteristics of psychiatric conditions, e.g. schizophrenia (particularly during the first episode prodrome). (d) The detection of early stage dementia (specifically, improving the accuracy of the diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment; differential diagnosis within MCI). (e) Forensic applications of neuropsychology (e.g., in disability or injury claims).
