Yale Psychiatry Residents' Association
History to Logo
Welcome to the homepage of the Yale Psychiatry Residents' Association
(YPRA)!
For nearly four decades, the YPRA has played a central role in resident
advocacy at Yale. It has served as a liaison sponsoring both social and
educational forums between residents, faculty and alumni. The YPRA is
responsible for overseeing resident representation in virtually every
departmental committee involved in making significant changes in the residency
program. We have initiated a wide range of educational forums, including
fireside chats with alumni, journal clubs, the Malcolm Bowers Clinical
Rounds and actively participate in the selection of speakers for our Grand
Rounds. We have also organized social events ranging from tailgate parties
at the annual Harvard-Yale football game to formal dinner gatherings with
faculty and alumni.
There are over eighty psychiatry residents at Yale, all of whom are
members of the YPRA. The YPRA helps to maintain a level of cohesion among
the residents that creates a unique setting for developing diverse relationships
and exchanging ideas.
