New Employee Orientation.

YSM Orientation Session

All faculty, staff and postdocs are cordially invited to a morning of orientation to the Yale University School of Medicine (YSM).

In addition to receiving valuable information about the Medical School, the orientation provides an opportunity for new employees to determine what training is required for them and to complete all federally-mandated training that is currently available online.

Faculty and postdocs receive invitations to the orientation through emails sent to their Chair or Principal Investigator and Business Administrator. Staff receive an invitation as part of their offer letter. All invitations includes the specific date for you to attend.

If you cannot attend orientation or need to change the date, please contact either:

Federally-mandated training requirements
Most required training is determined by the work that you do. However, all faculty, staff, postdocs, and students in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, Epidemiology and Public Health, Physician's Associate Program, and Department of Psychology are required by law to complete HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act) training even if they have already taken training at another institution.

A simple assessment will determine what online training you should complete based on your work. You need an activated NetID in order to access training which is done as part of orientation.
