VRE Prevention and Control
Aggressive infection control measures and strict compliance by hospital personnel are required to limit the nosocomial spread of VRE. Control of VRE is a collaborative multidisciplinary effort by the entire institution in order to identify the specific problems in hospital operations and design which facilitate VRE transmission and to evaluate the efficacy of control measures.

Systems must be established for monitoring appropriate process and outcome measures for the control of VRE. Such data must be relayed to the clinical, administrative, laboratory, and support staff as reinforcement to ongoing education and control efforts.
